Where I currently live, and will for another 5 weeks, backs up to a gorgeous nature conservancy. I have my own private light show each evening. None are ever the same and each one is magnificent. While I will miss my nightly sighting of another glorious sunset, our new house will bring another peace.
We moved into our current place so Coe and I could go for long daily walks in the park. Slowly, our walks have gotten shorter and she doesn’t enjoy the park the way she used to. In our new place, she won’t have to deal with stairs and she’ll have a doggy door to a fenced back yard. The times they are a changing and we are changing with them.
Today is Fat Tuesday. A day of celebration, over indulgence, parades, and king cake. While this festival has it origins in religion, folks now celebrate Mardi Gras and Fat Tuesday just because. The baby is hidden in a king cake, and the person that finds it, has to host the party next year. My coworker told me in Mexican tradition the finder of the baby has to make the tamales.

Thanks to a couple of wonderful girlfriends I was gifted a few weeks of #BlueApron. This is NOT a paid endorsement. Certainly, if they want to, I wouldn’t say no. This week I made chicken & orange kale salad, steak & roasted broccoli, and tonight was the orange glazed meatballs (sans rice and I forgot the orange). It was all was good and I’d make any of these again. I upped the veggies on the all the dishes with stuff I had in the fridge. Never too many veggies!
Aside from all the good eating, this week has been a roller coaster, so much so that this evening called for a dirty martini. Ginger thought she needed to get in on this action, but her mama cut her off. It’s all mine!

I have fallen behind here with my #photoaday but have been posting for the #365project. To get caught up, I’m lumping them all together here.
With the snow a too recent memory, I’ve been craving color and have been drawn to anything bright. This evening’s sunset was brilliant. As were the flowers and peppers at the grocery.
This weekend Coe and I got out for a walk while it was warm. For being such a gorgeous weekend, we managed to find some moments of silence at the park.
This was the other evening at sunset. When I snapped this, I was drawn to the clouds. After looking at it on the screen, it looked like a mysterious tunnel to another story.
After looking at nothing but white snow and ice for the last week, I’m in need of some color. While getting out to some shops, the bright displays drew me in. When I got to work this morning, I found a pretty bag of baby bell peppers. The pink flamingo on my patio joins me to check out the white mess. As always, the evening light show from my patio always makes my heart soar.
