festering pile of…

We all have those days and occasionally we have those weeks. I’m going to over share here for a moment. I am a woman of a certain age and I am starting to experience some changes…. The most unpleasant change I’ve been experiencing is that I have been getting headaches during my period. Not the little nuisance headache, but the I want to put my head in an oven kind of headache.

This, compounded with the incessant noisy girls at work, makes for very long days. Today I actually put in earplugs with headphones on top to block out the noise.

I took this picture last night on my final walk with Coe. I have honestly never seen pumpkins so desiccated that I had to snap a shot. Needless to say, this is kinda how I felt by the time my day ended.

In honor of the poor pumpkins that gave their heart and soul for someone’s porch, I’m going to share a good pumpkin treat with you.  I’ve mentioned before how much I love pumpkin and when I saw pumpkin spice rooibos tea at Trader Joe’s I had to give it a try. I’ve now discovered that this makes the best hot toddy. See if your TJ’s still has any in stock and get one or three.  Sadly, I only got one tin.  I’m going to savor this!

My day has finally come to an end.  Jammies, a snuggly cat, and my hot toddy made the world a better place.

As a side note, do you see the faces in the dead pumpkins?  I saw them after I took the pictures.  Creepy!

  1. Thanks for the worthwhile share!! The tea sounds delightful and what a lovely way to end a tense day… I do so verily hope the headaches melt away, as the mushy pumpkins depicted. Hugs to you until they do!
