Art as Meditation

I’m doing the 100 Day Project as part of my daily art practice. I’m on a Kindness Cards bender.

Some are feel-y and some are snarky, but all of them are cathartic. I come home after work and sit down for an hour or two with glue and paint. I can tune out the politics and the latest mango tinted drama.

My coworkers have gotten used to my “dumpter diving” for good usable cardboard. I’ve also been perusing thrift stores for old playing cards. This, plus an assortment of sayings, make for hours of fun.

Most of these kindness cards will get released into the universe to hopefully bring a smile or a little joy to someone. I keep ones that bring me a little extra joy. I need all of that I can get these days.
