  1. This is truly my favorite time of year. I love the colors, I’ve used them in my house and like to wear these colors, too. I have a very tall Maple tree that turns yellow on one side of my house and another shorter, round Maple tree on the opposite side that turns bright red. I planted shrubs that turn bright colors each fall, and I have a heather garden with probably six different colors of heather that bloom in the fall. I pay a gardener to pick up the leaves, ’cause I’m lazy! It is a glorious time of year!

  2. I have a Japanese Maple in the backyard that I’ve been told is almost as old as the house (nearing 100) and there are times when the light filtering through is breath-taking. No matter how many pictures I try to snap of that, it never translates into the glory of the real thing.
